This page contains more detail about the Channel Islands transfers, including court documentation and the flyer being sent to policyholders in the Channel Islands.

We need to apply to each Island Court for approval of the proposed transfers of business. Each island has its own Court process for the transfers, independent of the United Kingdom High Court process, so there will be a separate transfer in each Island. The separate transfers of business in the Islands will only happen if the United Kingdom High Court approves our proposals and the proposals are implemented in the United Kingdom. The terms of the transfers in the Islands are based upon (and are in all material respects the same as) the terms of the transfers in the United Kingdom; the policyholders transferred in the Islands will be treated in the same way as the policyholders transferred in the United Kingdom.

In addition to the UK Timetable of events shown on previous pages the following dates are applicable to the Channel Island schemes.

We need to apply to each Island Court for approval of the proposed transfer of life insurance business and the following dates are scheduled for each of the Jersey and Guernsey hearings.

9 December

Guernsey court hearing.

11 December

Jersey court hearing.
